But the better parts you put on any bike will make it lighter any way. OK so I signed up on the os db site today just so I could check in on the vin. Apparently there's been on ongoing investigation into these VM serial number DB's. I sent the same same pictures to sparky to add to his investigation. It seems he's trying to figure out if these VM frames were possibly made in the kuwahara factory before akisu started producing them.

Another interesting fact about my frame is on the underside of the box section behind the rear dropout there is only one smaller hole aside from the bigger one (which indicates it could be a prototype frame or a manufactoring error.because there should be two smaller holes opposite each other. That's not entirely correct, DB introduced the small gussett in 1983 with the introduction of the Formula One and it had nothing to do with Team riders. It was simply a re-development born out of improving geometry and weight. DB dropped the name of the Pacer due to sales and blamed it on the 'name' they used. The Pacer was originally meant to be the replacement for the Silver Streak.moving forward it because the Super Streak.which again was dropped and the name Silver Streak returned later on.
