I bought this wideband O2 kit as a requiremnt for a CAI/Bama tune upgrade for my Saleen VI supercharger. My experience is for installation as a 'stand alone' unit. I marked it a little low because of the lack of instruction, applicability, and limitations of the provided equipment.

This will be a little lengthy, but I wanted to share my experience. My setup required a stand alone O2 sensor to be installed which required me to remove the stock 'H' pipe, take it to a welder, and have a new bung installed. The instructions specifically state for the new wideband sensor to be placed at least 24' BEHIND the engine, but FORWARD of the catalytic converter. With a stock exhaust setup (don't laugh.it's a daily driver not a drag car.ha) the cat is a little over a foot behind the engine.

I ended up installing it in the only feasible place.midway between the cat and where the 'H' pipe connects to the stock manifold/headers. After re-installing the 'H' pipe and installing new wideband sensor, I had to remove the driver's side tire and the wheel-well splash gaurd to gain access to the firewall.

The wideband sensor has more than enough wire to route through multiple locations. Finding a location for the control module (red box) is tricky. You are limited by the length of the power cord (maybe 5 ft) that PLX provides, as well as the length of the connecting cable for the actual gauge itself. I highly recommend doing a dry run, to include running the wire under the dash, to ensure you have enough wiring to support your gauge install location. The wiring instructions are minimal at best.

I ended up connecting the control module power cord to my fuse box with an add-a-circuit (which should have either been included in the kit, or at least recommended). I had to modify my fuse box cover to do this. I ran the power cord under my glove box and through the center console. I mounted the control module to the driver's side of the center control panel with double sided tape. After that, I simply purchased a stand alone pod for my steering column.

Bang for your buck: I understand that this product is marketed for all makes and models of vehicles, but for the price, I expected to see some Mustang specific install procedures.
