I had already found the Libwdi, but I found it woefully lacking in information as to how to set it up. When I tried to open the project with the Visual Studio.SLN file, I got a message that the project was impossible to open because NONE of the prerequisites were installed on my system. Xiaofan, thanks. I have downloaded the MS DDK for the DP Install, but have not yet had time to get into it. I will try to do so today.

I had read about those tools, but was hoping that Microchip had an install package for that driver already prepared for us. I have, and need, no changes to the driver as supplied in the dev kit, so this is a whole new level of learning needed to produce a viable product using the kit as a starting point.

If you are building a universal or mobile driver package, you must use a universal INF file.

I already have a production board produced and working, and only need a seamless driver install before we can start using it. Regards, Russ.

Only one item should be listed, representing both the application and the driver. For more information about how to list your application in Add or Remove Programs, see 'Removing an Application' in the Setup and System Administration section of the Windows SDK documentation. • Setup applications should never copy driver INF files to the Windows INF file directory (%windir% INF).

SetupAPI copies the files there automatically as part of the call. For more information about setup applications, see.
